Andoni Zubizarreta: “Vilanova will be coaching Barca next year”

Barcelona’s Sporting Director and ex Blaugrana Andoni Zubizarreta has said that Tito Vilanova will be coaching Barcelona next year. Speaking in an interview with RAC1 he said that Barca’s biggest victory would be to have Tito Vilanova back at Barca. He also spoke about the A.C Milan match and remarked that it was Barca’s most complete game of the season so far.

Midfielder Xavi out of Sunday’s Rayo Vallecano clash

Barcelona midfielder Xavi Hernandez will be out of Sunday’s La Liga clash against Rayo Vallecano on Sunday. The player felt a few twinges after the second leg clash of the Champions League against A C Milan where Barca won by 4 goals to nil. Xavi was also one of the highlights in this epic comeback and Barca now have a ticket to the quarter finals.

A sublime Barcelona toyed with A.C Milan tonight at the Nou Camp in one of the greatest comebacks ever. Barca needed at least 3 goals to seal a victory and they came through the test with flying colours. Two great goals from Messi, one from David Villa and another by winger Jordi Alba were enough to put the Catalans through to the quarter finals of the Champions League.

FC Barcelona beat a tame Deportivo side on Saturday night with goals coming from Alexis in the 38th minute and Messi in the 88th. It wasn’t the best preparation for Barcelona thinking ahead to Tuesday’s crunch game against A.C Milan at the Nou Camp and the Catalans became a bit complacent treating the game as a mere formality and nothing more than a routine training session.

Transfer Rumour: Wayne Rooney to Barca?

After the England star was left out of United’s starting line-up to face Real Madrid in the Champions League on Tuesday night, speculation has run rife in the football world about a possible departure of Wayne Rooney. A source close to the player has said that if he were to move and a bid came in from Barcelona, he would value it above all others. Alex Ferguson on the other hand has stated that Rooney will not be going anywhere!

Barca defender Marc Bartra out for 10 days with knee sprain

Barca defender Marc Bartra will be out of action for 10 days with a knee sprain according to the Barcelona medical staff. Xavi Hernandez, who was missing for the league match against Real Madrid last Saturday, has trained with the full squad but will not be called into action against Deportivo this weekend. Jordi Roura will rest him so he’s a 100% fit for Tuesday’s clash against A.C Milan.
