Tottenham targeting Barca’s Marc Bartra

The young centre-back featured sparingly for FC Barcelona last season, despite a defensive crisis which saw numerous players used in the Catalan giants defense. According to several sources and most notably Goal.com, Tottenham Hotspur are considering the services of the 22 year old centre back. Tata Martino to put brakes on signing new central defender

It appears that new Argentine coach Gerardo Martino has put the breaks on any new signings of a central defender. Martino would like one and still hopes that he gets one, but with the prospect of bringing in a new player that cannot play Barca’s style of football and adapt quickly, Tata prefers to wait for Puyol. D-Day for Chelsea’s David Luiz

It looks like being D-Day for Chelsea’s David Luiz in his bid to wear a Barca shirt and play for the Catalan giants. Today FC Barcelona may find out if their hard work has paid off and can finally bring to the Nou Camp a quality central defender. Double surprise for Cristian Tello as he gets a call up

Barca’s Cristian Tello had a double surprise this weekend when he landed in Kuala Lumpur with his teammates.The first surprise was the warm welcome he received as his name was chanted along with Messi’s and Neymar’s. Neymar getting into his role against Malaysia

Neymar enjoyed his role at the last game of Barcelona’s pre season tune up in Asia. The Catalan club won by a comfortable 3 goals to 1 and Neymar took firm hold of the reins with Messi absent from the pitch due to muscle fatigue. On the downside, Cesc Fabregas suffered an ankle injury that rules him out of the Ecuador – Spain match. More about this post here

Pinto injured due to state of pitch

Barcelona number 2 keeper José Manuel Pinto had to leave yesterday’s training session after he picked up an injury due to the poor state of the pitch. It’s the same pitch that the Catalan club will be using today in their final match as part of their Asia Tour pre-season and the club are asking for guarantees otherwise they won’t play.
