The search drags on for a new central defender and Danish newspaper Ekstra Bladet assures us that FC Barcelona has made a bid of £17.5M for Liverpool’s Daniel Agger. Although Barcelona steamrollered past Thailand this afternoon to the tune of a 1-7 thrashing, the game served as a reminder of what’s lacking in the squad as they face the new season . It appears that london club Chelsea are to take advantage of Barcelona over the possible transfer of their Brazilian central defender David Luiz. According to UK newspaper the Daily Mail, Chelsea’s owner Roman Abramovich wants to ask around 46M euros for the player they paid 26.4M euros to Benfica for in 2011, nearly double.
