Messi wins fourth FIFA Ballon d’Or

Leo Messi has made it four FIFA Ballon d’or awards in a row tonight at the awards ceremony. He is the 2012 FIFA Ballon d’Or winner and has beaten the likes of both Cristiano Ronaldo and Andrés Iniesta. It is an incredible feat for the 25 year old who now goes into the history books. The dominance of Cruyff, Van Basten and Platini – all with 3 awards to their name, is now a thing of the past.

Barca vs Espanyol: Prelude to the FIFA Ballon d’Or

Last night’s game against Espanyol was the perfect backdrop for tonight’s FIFA Ballon d’Or. it was a game of footballing excellence once more with Tito Vilanova in the Barca dugout. For Espanyol, it wasn’t a good Catalan derby match and just goes to show Barca’s quality and dominance.

Adriano, Cesc and Song could make Sunday’s derby against Espanyol

Great news for Tito Vilanova and all Barca fans is that Adriano, Song and Cesc have been given the all-clear by the medical staff and could play in the Barca vs Espanyol derby crunch at the Nou Camp on Sunday. Other good news is that Tito has now taken two training sessions and is feeling better everyday. Kick-offis scheduled for 19:00 hours Spain time or GMT +1.

David Villa is ready to leave Barca now

David Villa could well and truly be out of Barca’s door if were for the player himself. With offers coming in from Arsenal, Liverpool and now Juventus , it appears that the Catalan club would only let the player from Asturias in northern Spain, go for the right price. If the right price is not tabled in January the player will certainly go in the summer.

Zagallo: “Messi is best in world but don’t compare him to Pele”

According to ex Brazil national coach Mario Jorge Lobo Zagallo in an interview published today in Brazil daily Correio Braziliense, Messi is the best in the world but don’t compare him to the great Pele. Zagallo also said that Messi has yet to be a World Cup winner with Argentina,something that Pele won three times.

Frank Rijkaard: “There’s no magic formula to beat Barca”

Ex Barcelona coach Dutchman Frank Rijkaard has said in an interview with the official FIFA website that there is no magic formula to beat the Catalan club. Rijkaard, who enjoyed some great years at the club says his favourite for the FIFA Ballon d’Or is Leo Messi who is “simply the best.”
