Adriano, Cesc and Song could make Sunday’s derby against Espanyol

Some good news about Cesc Fabregas, Adriano Correia and Alex Song is that they were given the all clear on Thursday by medical staff after the morning training session and may even be able to make the derby game against local neighbours Espanyol this coming Sunday.

Cesc Fabregás, as we remember, suffered a torn hamstring in his left leg on 9th December in the league clash against Real Betis and neither Adriano nor Alex Song travelled to Valladolid for the last game of the year blighted by a sore left hamstring and left knee problem respectively.

Isaac Cuenca, who is making great progress after being operated on his left knee seven months ago has been training with the rest of the team while Marc Bartra and Cristian Tello have been training individually and apart from the first team.

As he did on Wednesday afternoon, Tito Vilanova personally took the training session, in which some of the squad played in Catalonia’s friendly match against Nigeria.

It looks like things are settling down with Barca and having Tito back in the training sessions so early will inspire and give the team more confidence for sure.

Sunday’s game against Catalan rivals Espanyol will be a good one as per usual as the team from Cornellà, on the edge of Barcelona, always aim to put up a good fight no matter where they are in the league table. They are currently in 18th position or 3rd from bottom with only 15 points to their name.
