David Villa is ready to leave Barca now

As we have said in previous articles, Barca striker David Villa’s future at the Catalan club is looking bleaker and bleaker and as Tito Vilanova is relying on him less and less it looks like Villa is coming to terms that his playing days at Barcelona are almost over.

If it were up to Villa, he would be out of Barca’s door in January’s transfer window. But it looks like it all depends on Barca receiving a formal offer for the player and one which they are willing to accept. Barca willing to accept an offer is probably the hardest obstacle to overcome at the moment.

There are several clubs that are willing to sign him already. In the Premier League, as we have mentioned before, Arsenal and Liverpool have made their intentions known while in Italy, the mighty Juventus are looking to sign a striker in the January transfer window. If the Italian giants have not yet made a move it may be because Villa would not be eligible to play in the Champions League as he has already taken part in it with Barcelona.

However, the main problem with David Villa leaving the Catalan club is that they do not want to let him go just now and even though he seems to have lost his first team place, coach Tito Vilanova is not in favour of losing the ex Valencia star.

Tito still believes that Villa has not hit the same level as he had before the injury. Tito thinks he isn’t the same player as before and this is why he is relying more and more on his other stars. However, Tito also realises the importance of his Barca frontline in the next few months and what it means for the team as a whole. The coach will not risk not having a forward of Villa’s stature in case one of the regular first team forwards gets injured.

Isaac Cuenca may go on loan this January window thus making Messi, Alexis, Pedro and Tello the few important faces that Vilanova has to rely on as the Catalan team are about to face the most important stretch of the season so far. Injuries to any of them would considerably limit Vilanova’s tactical possibilities with the team.

This is the main reason why Barcelona has not put David Villa on the market and their stance would only be swayed if a tempting deal were to be tabled whereby the club had no other option but to sell.

This is something that is unlikely to happen in this January transfer window. Another matter would be the summer and that is when the Barcelona striker will almost certainly move on as his price tag will also be less.

Valora en Bitacoras.com: David Villa could well and truly be out of Barca’s door if were for the player himself. With offers coming in from Arsenal, Liverpool and now Juventus , it appears that the Catalan club would only let the player from Asturias….
