Barca through to the last 16 of La Copa del Rey

Barcelona didn’t disappoint last night at the Camp Nou and got through to the last 16 of La Copa del Rey by beating minnows Cartagena by 3 goals to nil. Barca to meet Man City in last 16

We now know the draw of the last 16 for the Champions League and Barcelona has been drawn against new kids on the block Manchester City. Arsenal FC have drawn ex Barca coach Pep Guardiola’s Bayern Munich with Atlético Madrid paired with Italian giants A.C Milan. The first leg of the matches will take place in February 2014. Carles Puyol thinks about hanging up his boots for good

Barca captain Carles Puyol is thinking about hanging his boots up for good at the end of this season according to Mundo Deportivo. This news has generated much interest around the world as the Barca captain revealed to team mates that if his right knee is still giving him problems, then he will retire despite having a contract with Barca until 2016. Tough game against Villareal ends 2-1 for the Catalans

It was a tough game last night at the Camp Nou for Martino’s men against Villareal which was finally unlocked in the 30th minute via a penalty from Neymar. The Brazilian grabbed a brace in this 2-1 win for Barca with Musacchio scoring from a corner for Marcelino’s men to make it 1-1 until Neymar came up with the goods again and sentenced the match. Barcelona will move heaven and earth to avoid Messi leaving says Rosell

FC Barcelona president Sandro Rosell has assured that he “will move heaven and Earth for Messi to stay” at the ‘Azulgrana’ outfit while he remains in charge of the Catalan club. Rosell said that it would be very difficult for Messi to leave the Catalan giants and hinted that negotiation talks are ongoing. he also said that the contract renewal of Andrés Iniesta is close to completion. Barcelona finally produced the magic they are capable of with a stellar display from ex Santos striker Neymar. The Brazilian showed why he’s one of the best players in the world by racking up 3 goals in this Champions League thriller at the Camp Nou in Barcelona. Neil Lennon: “Maybe Neymar exaggerates a little when there’s contact”

Celtic manager Neil Lennon, maintained his opinion yesterday that Neymar Jr “maybe exaggerates when he is fouled”, but then clarified that it was “logical” because he is still young and lacks “maturity.” Lennon was still angry about the way his Celtic captain Scott Brown got sent off for the foul on Neymar which in Lennon’s opinion, was exaggerated by the Brazilian. Barca’s new stadium to be covered and bigger than Camp Nou

Nobody knows where the new FC Barcelona stadium is going to be but there are two things we do know: it’s going to be bigger, with a capacity for around 105,000 fans and it’s going to be covered. The Barca board are shuffling two options for the stadium. Option one is to move not very far away and build a new stadium or option two is to rebuild the current Camp Nou as a type of progressive, ongoing project. More about the new Camp Nou
