Barcelona’s Pedro plays down talk of links with Arsenal

FC Barcelona’s Pedro Rodríguez has played down talks of a move to Premier League side Arsenal. The player from the Canary Islands has tried to quash claims and assured the Nou Camp fans that his intention is to stay at the Catalan giants.

But with Barcelona using their trio of aces in Messi, Neymar and Suárez, Pedro has had his options seriously cut down especially with the likes of Iniesta and new boy Munir being handed starts in front of him.

As usual, speculation over a player’s future is rife once this scenario is in place and the latest additions of suitors to sign the player are Liverpool and Arsenal – both of which could utilise his talents to the full.

The player has responded to the obvious questions being raised at this time of year regarding his future at the Nou Camp. “Rumours in England about Arsenal interest? I have no plans to leave. I am comfortable here, I want to remain here and have a great year at Barça,” he told sports newspaper El Mundo Deportivo.

The 27 year old winger has made 8 starts so far this season and has come off the bench no less than 7 times. he’s also scored 3 goals and made 2 assists.

With his obvious talent, it’s easy to see why the Premier League is interested in the player. My money will be on Liverpool as Arsene Wenger isn’t exactly short in the winger/forward department.
