Barcelona’s number one stopper Victor Valdes is ready to return, as he himself acknowledged on his twitter account.

Valdés wrote: “I’m ready,” accompanying his words with a video clip showing him training with Juanjo Brau and pulling off a spectacular save. “Juanjo, thanks for always being there,” he added.

FC Barcelona has yet to give him his medical discharge, but everything indicates that the goalkeeper is ready and has been working over Christmas to be able to face the new year to be in a position to face the most important stage of the season for the Catalan club.

Valdés got injured on 19th November in the South Africa-Spain game and looks set to return on 5th January 2014 in the Barça-Elche clash (16:00 hours). The Barca stopper suffered a torn calf muscle in his right leg that has kept him off the pitch for just over a month. Number 2 keeper José Manuel Pinto has had to step into Valdés boots in his absence and has done a great job for the team.

You can watch the video clip of Victor Valdés and Juanjo Brau here. It doesn’t last long but it gives us an indication that all is well and the great keeper is ready to face the second half of the season.
