Guardiola: “The news about Tito is very hard for me to take”

The ex Barca coach added that it was very difficult for him to talk about Tito in the German language. He called him his friend and said he loved him very much before sending his best wishes to Tito and his family.

Pep Guardiola, coach of Bayern Munich, made an emotional reference to the situation of Tito Vilanova, who had to leave the FC Barcelona bench to start a new treatment of his disease.

“It’s very difficult for me to talk about Tito in German. He’s a friend and I love him very much. I send my best wishes to him and his family. This is very hard for me,” said Guardiola.

Pep Guardiola was speaking after the match of the semifinals of the Copa Telekom 2013. His new team, Bayern Munich, faced Hamburg on Saturday, where they won by 4 goals to nil.

Tito Vilanova will undergo further surgery in a third phase of his struggle against throat cancer that was first detected in November 2011 which forced the coach to undergo surgery for the first time.

On this occasion, Tito Vilanova has the operation scheduled for next Tuesday and will be carried out at the Vall d’Hebron Hospital in Barcelona.
