Man Utd go to war with Arsenal over Fabregás

One of the transfer rumours to catch everybody’s eye today was an ensuing tug of war over Barcelona’s Cesc Fabregás. According to UK newspaper The Sun, Manchester United under new coach David Moyes is ready to outgun Arsenal in a bid to lure the midfielder to Old Trafford.

Fabregás, who is out of favour at the Catalan club is at the heart of a bidding war that Moyes doesn’t want to lose. Arsenal have first refusal on 26 year old Cesc Fabregas but David Moyes, who is keen on buiding his own legend at Old Trafford is poised to price monsieur Wenger out of the market in a £40Million move for the player.

Cesc Fabregás left the Gunners for Barca as he won virtually nothing with the North London team and a trip back to Arsenal may not be the wisest of moves considering what Moyes has planned for the Red Devils.

The player has stated on a Catalan radio station that he wants to stay at Barca even after the £5oMillion signing of Brazilian superstar Neymar. Moyes, however, is ready to put Cesc’s loyalty to the test by offering him a role at the heart of his new team for the future.

Manchester United’s midfield is ready for an overhaul with Paul Scholes retiring thus handing over the baton to Carrick and Cleverley. Anderson and Shinji Kagawa are not in the same league as Fabregás and Moyes knows it.

As Fabregás finds himself slipping down the pecking order at the Camp Nou, a move back to the Premier League might not be just hearsay. Wenger is fired up to bring United’s unsettled striker Wayne Rooney to the Emirates Stadium and that would take a sizeable chunk out of his budget making a tug of war with United over Cesc almost impossible for the Gunners.

Cesc Fabregás is planning to talk to Tito Vilanova this week over his future at the club.

  3. George says

Tactics from Moyes for a fake cesc bid so arsenal pay more and then cannot afford rooney

  4. adam t says

As Arsenal have 1st option on him and 50% sell on fee, this is highly unlikely at £40M.

  5. Kagawa defo is in his league

  6. Greg goon says

What ever utd want to pay, you all seem to firget the sell on fee, knowing arsenal it would ge around 30-40%. So 14-16 million if that money would be coming to arsenal!

    So it’s not a like g
