Hungarian Viktor Kassai to ref Bayern Munich vs Barca clash

Hungarian Viktor Kassai has been named by UEFA to take charge of the first leg of the Champions League semifinals between Bayern Munich and FC Barcelona at the Allianz Arena next Tuesday.

The Hungarian referee has previously been in charge of two of Barcelona’s past games.

Viktor Kassai to ref Bayern Barca clash

In both games, the Barca fans ended the match in style by celebrating wins. We ar not talking about a couple of simple wins either. The first was in the 2011 Wembley final against Manchester United, while the second is still very fresh in the minds of both players and fans alike: the 4 nil comeback against Italian giants AC Milan at the Camp Nou which allowed Barca to progress on in the competition and beat Paris Saint-Germain and ulimately on their way to a fifth Champions League final which will be played at Wembley stadium.

Viktor Kassai is considered to be one of the best referees in Europe and the world and is characterized by his non-permissive stance on violence. Kassai has refereed many other important clashes including the second leg of last year’s semifinal between Real Madrid and Bayern Munich at the Santiago Bernabeu where the whites were eliminated on penalties. Sergio Ramos will remember well!

Another important match that Viktor Kassai took control of was the Spain-Germany semifinal of the World Cup in South Africa in which the Spanish team won by 1-0 with a goal from Barcelona’s Carles Puyol.

The stage has been set. We know the place and time and now we know who’s going to referee the game. All we need now is Messi to be at 100% for the clash on Tuesday.

About Aaron

My name's Aaron and I'm a great Barça fan. I like to tell it like it is and if there is something I don't like about the club or something that needs addressing, you'll know!
