Vintage Barca seals quarter final place

It was what the fans wanted and it was what Barcelona wanted – a ticket to the quarter finals of the UEFA Champions League.

A truly sublime Barca passed the test and Messi answered the fans prayers with two great goals in a 4-0 victory against A.C Milan at the Nou Camp.

It was a beautifully played match by Barcelona and one of the greatest comebacks we’ll see for a while. At the start of the match the Catalans were down 2-0 from the first leg and needed at least 3 to seal the deal.

Not only did Barca seal the deal but they did it in style with two goals from the Argentine maestro, the killer blow coming from David Villa and Jordi Alba rounding off a super night for Spanish football with a great finish latching onto a superb pass from Alexis Sánchez.

Barcelona showed us that they were “up for this one” and Messi took the bull by the horns from the start of the match despite Milan’s best efforts to phase him out of the game.

There was no room for mistakes tonight and defensive errors would be punished by the Italians for sure. They did come ever so close to breaking Barca’s hearts however, when Valdes was beaten but the ball found the far post instead.

Luck is a part of the Champions League and tonight it was all on Barca’s side. This was just what Barca needed and Xavi only said the other day “this generation needs a comeback” – and what a comeback it was!

A.C Milan was stunned by this Barca tonight at the Nou Camp. All the team played their part and did their bit. We were looking at a team that was giving 110% and it showed.

This great comeback was dedicated to Tito Vilanova who’s still in New York undergoing treatment. This was a fairytale ending for Barca tonight and suddenly things are looking up.
