Alex Song is enjoying this season with more opportunities in the starting lineup. The Cameroon international is optimistic: “Barcelona is the best team in the world and they always have to improve. Today, our opponents learn and work hard and to win a game before even playing it, is impossible. Barca put Cartagena to the sword despite going down 1 nil

Barca had to comeback from 1 nil down on their visit to Cartagena last night in La Copa del Rey. The local side got ahead of the Catalans on the scoreboard and took the lead with a goal from Fernando, which sounded the alarm bells within Martino’s team. Barca went from less to more and it was Pedro who turned the game around. The man from Tenerife scored two goals in FC Barcelona’s comeback with Dongou and Cesc getting the other two. Leo Messi on the mend and Jordi Alba returns

There is good news for Barcelona fans on the horizon. Leo Messi is on the mend and Jordi Alba is back on Tata Martino’s list. Messi is recovering in Argentina and is smiling again after his third day in a row at the Ezeiza sports complex and Jordi Alba is on Martino’s list to face minnows Cartagena in La Copa del Rey tournament. Barca midfielder Xavi Hernández believes there is an air of negativity surrounding the club which is not helping them one bit. Xavi was speaking on Catalunya Radio and stressed that the club should change its mindset. He pointed out that the club should start to see the glass half full rather than half empty. Young gun Cristian Tello gives Tata an ultimatum

Barca young gun Cristian Tello has given Tata Martino an ultimatum. The young player is quite clearly fed up with being sidelined and wants more playing time. Defeat for Barca at new San Mames stadium

Barcelona saw their unbeaten start in the Primera Division brought to an end as Athletic Bilbao claimed a 1-0 victory at San Mames on Sunday night. And it was Athletic’s Iker Muniain who guided home the only goal of the contest 20 minutes from the end as the Catalans slipped to a second loss in five days following their midweek defeat on Tuesday to Ajax in the Champions League.
