Leo on the mend and Alba back from 82 days off the pitch
As we all know, Leo Messi is in Argentina for his next round of recuperation and the Barca star has completed his third day of training in a row at the Ezeiza sports complex.
Messi is feeling better each day, concentrating on getting back into top form and putting behind him the problems he has had with the femoral biceps injury in his left leg. The Argentine is pushing himself a little harder each day, as the area is no longer painful.
The Barca frontman is enduring twice daily training sessions as set out by Barca’s own medics. Messi is smiling again and he is quite clearly on the mend.
The Argentine reports for duty each day at the Argentina national team dugout at 8.30am. After a change into kit and some breakfast, he then undergoes physical therapy sessions and kinesiology, as prescribed by Luis Garcia, and Dr. Daniel Martinez.
This is pretty much Messi’s daily routine at the sports complex and after lunch, the Argentine goes for a jog before returning and having a siesta.
Meanwhile, Jordi Alba, who has spent 82 days away from the pitch after picking up a thigh injury against Sevilla, is back on the coach’s list to face Cartagena in La Copa del Rey tournament.
Jordi Alba’s return is the only big news regarding Gerardo Martino’s list of players to face Cartagena. Both Xavi and Iniesta are both out due to niggling problems, and Gerard Piqué for footballing reasons. Therefore, 17 players will travel to Cartagena, meaning that Martino will have to take one off his list before the clash.
