Xavi aims to help Celtic qualify for next round of Champions League

Barcelona star Xavi Hernandez has spoken out and said he would like to help Celtic through to the next round of the Champions League. Celtic need the Catalans to beat Benfica in order to go through to the last 16.

Barca make light work of Spartak Moscow

It was a cold night and a night where Barcelona left Spartak Moscow out in the cold by beating them a convincing three goals to nil. Goals came from Dani Alves on 16 minutes and Messi wrapped things up with a brace before half time. Barca now go through to the last 16 of the Champions League.

The little Argentine maestro bagged another two goals last night against Real Zaragoza where Barcelona won by 3 goals to one at the Nou Camp. Leo Messi fired in two and ex Arsenal midfielder Alex Song got his first goal for the Catalan side.

Leo Messi is the best says Iniesta

Barca’s Andrés iniesta has spoken out and said that team mate Leo Messi is the best player in the world by far and will continue to be for a while. Last night Messi picked up two more trophies for his ever growing trophy cabinet when he was named La Liga’s Players’ Footballer of the Year and Best Striker for last season.

Barca beats Mallorca and Messi reaches new record

Barcelona beat Mallorca by a comfortable four goals to two last night in Palma. Joaquín Caparrós’ side tried to emulate the success of Celtic last week but it didn’t really happen. They were 3 goals down in the first half and managed two consolation goals in the second where Messi got the fourth for Barca and put the game to bed for the Catalans.

Barcelona hits Hadrian’s Wall and loses 2-1

Celtic built their own Hadrian’s Wall last night to keep the Barcelona attack at bay and it worked. Neil Lennon’s men took a leaf out of Chelsea’s books and gave the Catalans little hope of penetrating their defense. Goals came from Wanyama and 18 year old Watt who ran Mascherano ragged. It was up to Leo Messi however to try to alter the scoreline and managed to make it 2-1 in the dying moments of extra time.

Barca beats Celta de Vigo 3-1

It was business as usual for Barca last night and the Catalan side continued on their unbeaten run this time beating Celta de Vigo by a clear 3 goals to one. Barca’s goals came from Adriano, David Villa and Jordi Alba while Celta’s goal came from Mario Bermejo.

Thiago Messi is born

Antonella, Leo Messi’s wife gave birth to a boy this afternoon just after 5 0 clock. He is called Thiago Messi Rocuzzo. We don’t have too many details just yet but Messi is doubtful for the match against Celta Vigo this weekend as is understandable.
