It was an emotional goodbye from Barcelona defender Eric Abidal yesterday. Eric said his goodbyes at a press conference with Barca president Sandro Rosell at his side. The player was tearful and aims to play on. Barca had offered him a new post of technical director overseeing the club’s overseas academies but the Frenchman preferred to look for another club. Barcelona won the Copa de Catalunya for the seventh time last night after beating Espanyol on penalties by 4 goals to 2. The match, which was played at the Camp d’Esports de Lleida, finished 1 goal apiece thanks to a very late Cesc Fabregás goal in the 89th minute to draw the game. Uli Hoeness has revealed that Pep Guardiola wanted Neymar for Bayern Munich. The Bayern Munich president was speaking at an event organised by a computer distributor and his words were filtered by some attendees. Neymar to wear number 11 or number 7 shirt

Brazilian signing Neymar looks set to wear either the number 7 shirt or the number 11 for Barca. At the moment those two numbers are currently occupied by David Villa and Thiago Alcántara who could be leaving this summer.
