Former Barcelona legend Deco has named his world XI and has named just one Premier League star in his lineup. Deco named Diego Costa from Chelsea alongside the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi in his all star eleven.

Costa was instrumental in Atlético Madrid winning the Spanish League last season scoring some 36 goals to clinch his ex side’s first La Liga win since 1996. Jose Mourinho was impressed by the Brazilian born Spain international’s stats and promptly activated his £32 million release clause. Diego Costa has remained consistent for the Blues and has been a key part in their revival this year. Besides, Costa is just behind Sergio Agüero with 12 goals after 16 games.

37 year old Deco said this about Diego Costa to Spanish newspaper Diario Sport: “He was the great reference of Atletico Madrid 2014, becoming a champion in Spain and reaching the Champions League final.”

“He scored many goals and also added assists. He deserved his move to Jose Mourinho’s Chelsea side and he is becoming a key player for them.”

Below is Deco’s World XI:

Manuel Neuer, Philipp Lahm, Miranda, Mats Hummels, David Alaba, Luka Modric, Toni Kroos, James Rodríguez, Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, Diego Costa.

That’s an impressive lineup and Barça legend Deco didn’t hold back in including 4 Real Madrid players besides ex teammate and Barça’s ace Leo Messi.
