Dropped Pedro slaps in transfer request after Clasico

FC Barcelona’s Pedro has handed in a transfer request after his side went down to Real Madrid by 3 goals to 1 in the first of this season’s Clasicos.

It appears that Pedro, who was dropped by new boss Luis Enrique for the first Clasico this year, has fallen out of favour at the club and handed in his request just 48 hours after the defeat. Luis Enrique looks like he’s forgotten how valuable Pedro has been in recent Clasicos.

With the new manager opting for Luis Suárez instead of Canary Islands boy Pedro, the player has made up his mind that he may be surplus to requirements.

Both Arsenal and Manchester United have been tracking the player for some time with the Daily Express pitching Arsenal as the best placed club to land the Spaniard.

Now that Suárez is available to play for the club, Pedro’s place is surely in danger and for the last couple of months the player has known he could be living on borrowed time.

Pedro will have no shortage of suitors in the Premier League and therefore he must do what’s best for him and his family.Pedro has no doubt been looking at the progress of ex teammate Cesc Fàbregas who has been a shining example at Chelsea.

Pedro enters the last 18 months of his current deal at Barça and being dropped on Saturday couple with only starting four of the Catalan giants last 9 games surely must have prompted him to look out for number 1 – himself.

While Arsenal seem best placed, Arsene Wenger already has Alexis Sánchez at the North London club and some decent attacking options whereby Manchester United could use the winger on the right with ex Real Madrid star Ángel Di María on the left.

Meanwhile, after the Clasico, numerous Barça fans took to Twitter to show their discontent at Luis Enrique, whom they got mixed up with a singer from Nicaragua with the same name!

The singer had to write on his Twitter page the following message: “For football fans writing to Barcelona manager Luis Enrique, I regret to inform you that this is not his account.”
