Barcelona moderately optimistic about Luis Suárez

suarez ban appeal

Barcelona are said to be moderately optimistic about the outcome of Luis Suárez’s appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport and are hoping for a positive outcome.

Suárez took his biting ban case to the court after football’s governing body FIFA banned the forward for his disgraceful behaviour during the World Cup when he bit Italian defender Chiellini on the shoulder.

The three man panel will make a decision today in light of FIFA’s four month ban which includes a nine-game international ban into the mix. Suárez is banned from all football activity which hasn’t even allowed the Catalan giants to present him to the fans.

The club are said to be to be ‘cautious and optimistic’ about the upcoming verdict and will not consider making any statements beforehand so as not to cause a possible backlash from the Court of Arbitration.

In my opinion Luis Suárez should see out his four month ban and man up, as it were. If the court overthrows FIFA’s judgement, it will make a mockery of the system and give a green light for players to behave like animals on the field.I want to see Suárez play for Barça just as the next man does but once he’s learned his lesson. Liverpool were only too happy to get rid of the liability that “Suárez became at Anfield” and they won’t miss him according to a few sources.

Barcelona feel that Suarez’s punishment was disproportionate but I say it’s not. All the club want to do is present him to the fans and start selling shirts.Barça should stick to what they know as their motto of “more than a club” has been made a mockery of and ridiculed by every sporting journalist outside of the Nou Camp. The club need to get their act together and get back to the true values of the club. Don’t push it Barça, let Suárez see it his ban and then let’s see what happens. Luis Suárez might even learn his lesson this time.
