The Catalan giants have reportedly closed a deal with Liverpool’s Luis Suárez for the tidy sum of £62.6million.
According to Catalan TV channel TV3, Suárez will be among the top highest earners at the Nou Camp, behind Messi, Neymar and Iniesta. Sources say that the finer details will be discussed this week with the Uruguayan’s unveiling taking place as soon as next week.
Liverpool wanted Alexis Sánchez as part of a deal but with the Chile international preferring Arsenal (only the lord knows why), the Reds will be keen on making as much out of the Uruguayan’s £62.6m fee in one lump sum from the Catalans.
It now looks like the Anfield club have been forced to take a hit on Suarez’s stock following his bite on italian defender Giorgio Chiellini and World Cup exit, as Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo claims the 27-year-old’s release clause was originally set at £75m.
Also, Uruguay manager Oscar Tabarez claims that Liverpool and Barcelona had an agreement over the sale of Luis Suarez last November, but that Liverpool began to back out on the deal.
Meanwhile in North London, the Gunners are said to have agreed a £34million fee for the Chilean international. Goal believe this is the case and claim that Arsenal have already got personal terms ‘agreed in principal’ but will now hold formal talks with the player and his representatives in the next 48 hours to get everything formalised.
The transfer fee is £75m not euros, pounds. Why are Spanish media afraid to report the correct fee??
Liverpool Echo says the same buddy, look – http://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/liverpool-fc-transfer-news-barcelona-7381042?
As previously reported by the ECHO, Suarez is on the brink of leaving Liverpool after Barca agreed to pay his release clause of around £75million.
If this is true, the incompetent idiot ayre ( Who couldn’t negotiate his way out of a paperbag ) NEEDS SACKING ASAP !!! Liverpool fans will force him out, sooner rather than later !!!
That is in the Transfer Gossip section!! Not in their articles produced by their journalists who are close to the club. The same as they also mention all other junk reported from various locations but that does not mean that there is ANY basis of truth in them. All figures reported in the Echo by their journalists are all between 70-80m pounds.
The fee is between £70m to £80m in real British sterling. The only reason Liverpool are selling Luis Suarez is because Barcelona have agreed to meet the release fee stipulated in the player’s contract. It will be no surprise if the Spanish club lie about the figures though, because that is precisely what happened when Barcelona signed Neymar.
So Tom is that directed at me or writer or this piece?
