Could Alexis Sánchez sweeten the deal for Barça’s bid for Suárez?
Talks are now getting serious for Uruguayan striker Luis Suárez confirm most of the press around the world after the striker’s belated and hollow apology to the media via Twitter.
With Liverpool resigned to losing the top striker to Barcelona, it looks certain that Alexis Sánchez may hold the key to the door regarding any deal as the Anfield club want to replace their player as soon as possible.
The two top clubs are set to start talks today says Mike Whalley of ESPN:
Barcelona are set to officially begin their bid to buy Luis Suarez when a club delegation meets Liverpool chief executive Ian Ayre in London on Wednesday. Raul Sanllehi, Barca’s director of football management, is expected to lead the delegation in discussions with Ayre, sources have told ESPN.
According to sources, Liverpool are looking to get around £80m for their man if he were to be sold “as is” with no other sweeteners involved. However, that price could drop to £60m if Alexis Sánchez comes on board for the Reds.Brendan Rogers is said to be a fan of Alexis and therefore a deal could be thrashed out soon. The gritty Sánchez would be a hit at Anfield as he is in the same mould as Suárez.
A few tweets from Wayne Veysey suggest that Suárez will depart soon:
Barcelona have admitted today that Alexis Sanchez is likely to be sold – frees up space in their front line & on wage bill for Suarez.

However, it may not be as smooth as we all think as Sánchez apparently prefers a move to North London club Arsenal over the merseysiders. Alexis will now have to lay his cards on the table as Chile have been sent home packing from the World Cup after a decent campaign which has done wonders for the Chilean’s stock.

Suarez value is about £60m due to amount of games he misses. As for Sanchez being included, his fee would be £40m if total was Pool asking price of £80m. Will he go .. Probably not as nobody would want to swap life in Barcelona for Liverpool !
