Barcelona to offer Suarez deal but only if he agrees to ‘bite clause’

luis suarez bite clause

Catalan giants Barcelona are rumoured to be offering Luis Suárez a £40million deal, but only if the Uruguayan agrees to a ‘bite clause’. Barcelona are offering the striker a wage deal of £160k a week on a five year deal if he agrees to join the Spanish side.

Despite the Uruguayan’s outrageous behaviour at the World cup which got him banned for four months from all footballing activity by FIFA, the striker still remains a hot commodity.

The Barcelona board have penned into a contract a set of special clauses that will hopefully ensure that Suárez doesn’t repeat any of his misdemeanours taking into consideration that this was the third biting incident of his career after biting Italian defender Giorgio Chiellini in their final group match. Barcelona will want to ensure that Suárez behaves both on and off the pitch.

Many Barcelona fans don’t want to see him at the Nou Camp and Barça know this. That’s why any deal with the striker must have a few clauses to appease the Catalan giants’ fans.

While Liverpool look set to demand £80m for the top rated striker, Barcelona, as ever, want to pay £50m plus a deal sweetener in the shape of £30m rated Alexis. In my mind that’s a good deal and Alexis Sánchez, who’s had a great World Cup, would be the perfect man to ease the pain of losing Suárez.

Meanwhile it is understood that Barça will help fight to get the ban reduced with Suarez thinking of hiring top sporting lawyer Juan De Dios Crespo to get the job done. Hilariously, Suárez is still adamant that he lost his balance and fell on Chiellini’s shoulder.

I think Luis Suárez should man up and stand and be counted for. If he came out and said something like: ‘Hey, I’ve got some issues and I did bite Chiellini and need to get some therapy’ maybe FIFA would have been more lenient with him and would have the fans on his side, too.
