Man Utd keen on luring Pedro to Old Trafford

Could Pedro be leaving for United in the summer?

Manchester United could be plotting a move for Barcelona’s Pedro in the summer as a boost for its ailing squad. With news that David Moyes will be given the sack, it looks like the Red Devils are looking at quality players to rebuild the team and Barça’s unsettled Pedro Rodríguez fits the bill.

The news comes in light of the current Premier League title holders dismal season under Moyes which culminated in their exit from the Champions League by Bayern Munich and last weekend’s 2-0 defeat to Everton.

The Old Trafford side have set aside some £200 Million to rebuild the squad and they are going to spend it regardless of who is at the helm. I feel sorry for Moyes as he chose to partake of a poisoned chalice left by Ferguson. To my mind, Fergie knew full well what Moyes would be getting into with a below par squad. Vidic hasn’t been at his best for 3 years and Rio Ferdinand is also past his very best.

Other United players do not deserve to don the Red shirt and failure to play Shinji Kagawa has left the fans frustrated, too. He was a superstar at Borussia Dortmund and Jurgen Klopp played Kagawa upfront behind a lone striker, which is clearly his ideal position.

With Danny Welbeck and Javier Hernández eyeing a summer exit, Pedro Rodriguez would fit in well on the wings.

Pedro’s agent, Francois Gallardo, told reporters, “Pedro is very angry this season. The player is in a difficult situation and could be sold.”

However, with Barcelona’s transfer ban by FIFA, it looks unlikely that the Catalan giants would entertain any offers, however lucrative, for key members of its squad.
