Diego Costa looks set to miss out tonight against Barcelona

According to all the Spanish sports papers this morning, Diego Costa looks set to miss the first round leg of the quarter final clash between Barcelona and Atlético Madrid.

Diego Costa left training early yesterday and is a serious doubt for today’s clash. Manager Diego Simeone said to TVE after the training session: “I do not see Costa playing”.

That’s a blow for Atlético who are current league leaders as Diego Costa is currently in a good moment in his playing career.

Both teams are gearing up for tonight’s all Spanish showdown at the Nou Camp with both outfits in incredible form. Simeone said that his men will fight for the tie and that it will be a very nice game.

Although Barcelona are favourites, Atlético will be fighting to the end. Simeone says that Barcelona, without a shadow of a doubt, will try to resolve the game tonight at the Nou Camp and recognised that Atlético will have to take their chances whenever they could.

It will also be a different game to what we’ve seen in the last 3 meetings of these two clubs. The manager says tonight’s game will be different because Barça are playing well at the moment.

Simeone says that diego Costa is maturing day by day and that Messi’s 2 month spell away has been very good for him. He also had kind words for Andrés Iniesta who he called: “an extraordinary player”.

Meanwhile, David Moyes Manchester United take on Pep Guardiola’s Bayern Munich in their clash at Old Trafford. United know what they have to do and although Bayern Munich are tipped as favourites, United still have the firing power and expertise to upset the German outfit despite being without Robin van Persie. If the Red Devils can close off Ribery and Robben, they are in with a chance of going to Allianz Arena with more than a shout of beating the Bundesliga champions, who have just sewn up this year’s league with 7 games still to be played.
