Barcelona to get makeover this summer?

Could FC Barcelona be facing a makeover this summer?

We already know that Victor Valdés along with Carles Puyol will be leaving the Catalan club in the summer, but there could be more on the way out as the club potentially has plans for more signings in key areas of the pitch. The time has come for the club to start putting the pieces together as an outline has already been sketched out over recent months.

With the shock exit of number one stopper Valdés, Barcelona has had to go into overdrive to find a replacement of his calibre. Marc-André ter Stegen from German outfit Borussia Mönchengladbach is already on his way to the Camp Nou with just an official announcement pending. The Catalan club has also toyed with the idea of another goalkeeper, too.

With Puyol halfway out of the door like Valdés, Barcelona are busily finding a replacement for him. A lot of UK press put Chelsea’s Brazilian centre-back David Luiz back in the frame with the blues wanting at least £30M for him. A double signing would not be ruled out in case Mascherano decides to leave the Catalans, too.

The coach has the midfield covered by three stars in the shape of Xavi Hernandez, Andres Iniesta and Cesc Fabregas. Obviously xavi will play less and less as time goes on and therefore, Rafinha, who is currently on loan to Celta Vigo, may be called back into action.

If the Catalan giants decide to bring in a striker then Pedro and Alexis Sánchez may find themselves in a sticky situation. Pedro has been tipped to join the Premier League in case this occurs, with strong interest from Manchester United among others. Barcelona would of course, like to hang on to both players, but this could change if the club signs a striker. Gerard Deulofeu could also head back to La Liga from a great spell at Everton under Roberto Martínez and Cristian Tello could find his way out of the club, as he has had little to do this season under Gerardo Martino.
