Cesc Fabregas to treat following games as 19 finals

Barcelona midfielder Cesc Fàbregas is more than certain that his club can rise from the ashes and have a successful campaign. Fàbregas was talking to BarçaTV and said: “We have to improve, but it’s all still in our hands. We have 19 games ahead of us in the league, Champions League and cup, and if we win them all, then this will be a great season. We have to pull our socks up and show that we are hungrier than anyone else to win the league title. If we win every game we have left, we’ll be champions … I like to think that we’ll be there to the end in every competition. We have to treat these games like 19 finals.”

Confidence boost

Cesc admitted that last weekend’s clash against Almería probably wasn’t the team’s best game, although the Catalans won by 4 goals to 1. He went on We started well, but there were a few doubts in the last ten minutes of the first half, just after they scored. I think we controlled the second half. We could breathe more easily after the third goal … The win has boosted our morale, especially now that we are one point off the lead, and not three. We played good football again, perhaps not for all 90 minutes, but for much of the game”.

Fabregàs-self critical

Fàbregas also showed that he could be self critical when asked about Almería’s goal.He admitted that he was largely to blame for the goal and that he made a “complete mess of the corner”. He said that it was a game that Barcelona made difficult for themselves because the Catalans had it all under control. Once Almería scored, doubts started to creep in as Barça had worked pretty hard to get on the scoresheet. He admitted that the Catalan giants should have scored more goals on Sunday.

Cesc says that he feels physically and mentally stronger than ever this season and that his confidence is high because he feels important to the side. The midfielder finished by saying that he was “grateful to Tata”, as he gives him tremendous confidence.
