“Criticism made me stronger,” says Alexis Sánchez

FC Barcelona’s Alexis Sánchez was speaking at a press conference with manager Gerardo Martino ahead of tonight’s Champions League clash against Italian giants AC Milan and recalled what happened just a year ago: “We have that experience from last year and that’s why we know we have to start the game strongly.”

Although manager Massimiliano Allegri’s side is currently going through a rough patch the Chilean striker did not want to underestimate the Italians: “They already showed last year that they have good players.”

“The goals came and that’s very important for a striker. That’s the only change in me, because everything else, my motivation has always been the same. The criticism I received made me stronger and helped me mature. I’m now in a place I don’t want to leave. I want to continue at this level,” he added.

Alexis Sánchez concluded by saying: “I don’t feel like a starting player. There are players like Pedro or Tello who could play in any game.”

Tonight’s game kicks off at 19:45 GMT and Barcelona will be ready to pounce on the Italian sides rough patch. Sometimes that rough patch in the league for a team means nothing in the Champions League and the Catalan side will be more than ready for any surprises.

With both Messi and Neymar playing up front as a dynamic duo along with Alexis making up a three-pronged attack, we are in for a showdown against AC Milan.

Jordi Alba won’t be playing due to injury and we can see Puyol on the bench, maybe coming on in the second half for some minutes.
