Dani Alves has one foot out of the Nou Camp according to ESPN

According to ESPN on its official website, the Catalan giants have decided to put Dani Alves on next summer’s transfer market and would be putting off renewing the 30 year old Brazilian wingback who has a contract until June 2015.

Alves, who arrived at the Nou Camp in 2008 and whose current market value is around 20-25M euros, has attracted lots of interest from French giants Paris Saint-Germain and Monaco in the recently closed summer market and has attracted big admirers because of his reputation and regularity.

Alves is now in his sixth season at the club and has played in 270 official matches, would like to leave the Catalan club in a big way thus avoiding any controversy, something that the club would also want and would be satisfied with if they got an offer in the region of 25M euros.

According to ESPN, Barcelona will try to make bank for the possible departure of the international who has been benched low by a tendinitis problem in his right ankle.

However, it is noteworthy that the fact that the club has given signs that they do not want to renew Alves, as revealed by sources close to the player, it does not necessarily mean that Barcelona want to transfer him, especially considering his on-field chemistry with Messi and his close relationship with Brazilian new boy Neymar.

About Aaron

My name's Aaron and I'm a great Barça fan. I like to tell it like it is and if there is something I don't like about the club or something that needs addressing, you'll know!

  1. Are they kidding us, Alves is going no where, we need a player like him. He’s very intelligent and hard working so we want him to stay until his retirement time comes.
