Barcelona’s Cristian Tello, who was injured during the match against Polish outfit Lechia Gdansk, suffered a hamstring in his left thigh and will miss the Joan Gamper tournament against Santos on Friday according to an announcement made by the club.
The Barca medics did not want to go into details of how long 21 year old Cristian Tello will be out of action, as they will have to see how the injury progresses. Tello could only play 22 minutes of the friendly against Lechia Gdansk and had to be replaced by Joan Roman.
Cristian Tello played 34 games last season and scored eight goals. The winger became one of Barca’s up and coming stars of the last season.
On November 9th 2011 he made his debut for Barcelona’s first team, playing the full 90 minutes in a 1–0 away win against local side L’Hospitalet in the Copa del Rey where he netted a brace of goals in the second leg of a 9–0 drumming.
Cristian Tello made his first appearance in La Liga on January 28th 2012, coming on as a substitute for Adriano in the 75th minute of a 0–0 away draw at Villarreal.
