Tata Martino, the Argentine coach looks set to be announced as Tito Vilanova’s replacement. The club has been working round the clock since last Friday and narrowed their list down to just three: Tata Gerardo Martino, Luis Enrique and Andre Villas Boas.
All three coaches received a call from Barcelona but the Catalan club decided on the option of Gerardo Martino. It was thought that Barca would travel to Argentina to finalise the details but given the long journey and the pressure the club is under to announce a new trainer, the club has used other options to conclude a deal.
Barcelona hopes to reach an agreement with the coach and announce no later by Tuesday that a new coach has been selected for the Barca bench.
Yesterday morning, Sunday, Gerardo Martino was at the sports complex of Bella Vista watching a lower division game accompanied by his technical team.
It was then, one of his most faithful collaborators, Elvio Paolorroso, his trainer for 14 years, let drop a statement to AM 630 ESPN Radio that his boss had initiated contacts with Barça. “Tata, as head of the entire coaching staff has initiated conversations, and when we know something more concrete, we will communicate it. I spoke to him today and he said he would call me tonight. I don’t want to pressurise him and we shouldn’t be the ones to do that. It is he who decides where we go and and where we work. When he knows something, he’ll tell us.” said Paolorroso.
Barcelona want to continue with the same style that has led to their great success. The coach is changed for reasons outside Barca’s control, but not the club’s ethos and Tata Martino idea and fits perfectly into the profile of the Catalan club.
This is our chance no matter what happen,we will announce our coach bye God grace.

Tito in no doubt have contributed his quota to Barca, i ernestly pray that he overcomes his present condition. I equally hopes that this issue of coach should be quickly sorted out for the club to get down to real business.
Am pleading with the directors never to think of selling Cesc Fabregas, lets concentrate on getting a centre back. Abidal has been released, Puyol is having injury probkems and we cannot afford a repeat of the last part of last season season
