Arsenal FC have been left dizzy after Real Madrid put a £35million price on Gonzalo Higuain’s head, leaving Wenger’s dreams of bringing the Argentine to The Emirates in pieces.
After agreeing terms with Higuain’s representatives, the Gunners thought that they had the striker in the bag.
Arsenal FC still have to agree on a price tag for the Argentine and it looks like the Spanish giants are going to play hardball over the striker.
Sources close to Higuain told UK newspaper The Sun that Higuain is now coming to terms with the possibility of staying in the Spanish capital.
To make matters worse for Arsene Wenger, Italian club Napoli have now entered the fray and are on the lookout to replace Uruguay striker Edinson Cavani who they sold to Paris Saint Germain for £54m earlier in the week. Napoli are apparently willing to offer £30m for the wantaway striker.
This means that the Gunners will now likely be caught up in a bidding war with the Italians as Real Madrid are in no hurry to sell and will offload the player to the highest bidder as Gonzalo Higuain still has 3 years on his current contract.
The Argentine, who expressed his desire to quit the Santiago Bernabeu at the end of last season will be sold for as much as Real can get for him as they are still interested in an £80m raid for Gareth Bale.
I would just like to say how I feel Barcelona are just a joke of a football club, for a team to win so much in the last few years but yet still have so little class on and of the field is sad. The diving and play acting from many of the Barcelona players plus surrounding the ref on every decision is just unreal. Add to this the boring crab football and the courting of many football players from barca players and you have a recipe for disaster . This is why so many football fans in England dislike your team
