The agent of Gunner Laurent Koscielny, Stephane Courbis, has denied that FC Barcelona has made a formal offer to Arsenal FC for the player, but has revealed that he has the Catalan club is interested in him. “There has been no contact with Barcelona but I know that both Barca and Bayern have included his name on a list of three or four candidates to strengthen their defense,” he explained to Eurosport, France.
27 year-old Koscielny, is under contract to Arsenal until June 2017, which means that the Catalan club must negotiate the signing of the France international should they want him. Football experts emphasize his versatility as he can play in a central position or wide and has an offensive side to him, which suits Koscielny to Barca’s style of play.
Anyway, the first option is that of Thiago Silva, who has been the request of Barca coach Tito Vilanova. However, Barca’s president Sandro Rosell says his enormous salary makes Silva prohibitive because such a salary would cause a stir in the dressing room.
Once Barca signed Neymar, the goal is to bolster the defense with a solid central figure.
