Jordi Alba out of both legs of Paris Saint Germain clash

There’s been some bad news for FC Barcelona this weekend. Catalunya Radio has reported that the Spanish medical team has confirmed that Jordi Alba has a tear in his femoral biceps of his right leg.

The player, who was injured in the match against Finland at the Molinón last night, will return to Barcelona in the next few hours. On Sunday morning Jordi Alba will report to Barcelona’s training ground – the Joan Gamper Sports City, where Dr. Pruna will carry out an ultrasound check to determine the exact extent of the injury and how long the player would be out of action.

Whatever happens, Jordi Alba will miss the first leg of the quarterfinals of the Champions League against Paris Saint Germain on 2nd April.

Finland produced a shock 1-1 draw last night against Spain in Gijon after Spain scored first with a goal from Real Madrid’s Sergio Ramos. La Roja seemed to get a bit too comfortable and sat on their ‘laurels’ after Ramos’ goal. They now meet France on Tuesday in Saint-Denis.

France beat Georgia last night by 3 goals to one and look set to give Spain a run for their money after their poor result against the Fins which leave them in second place in their group. Karim Benzema was heavily criticized after the match by Raymond Domenech and was heckled and whistled by the French fans after a poor showing.
