We won’t stop until we are champions affirms Jordi Alba

FC Barcelona defender Jordi Alba is pleased with the win by Barca on “a very difficult ground” and also for the Leo Messi’s new goal record. Jordi Alba thinks that it’s good for the team that Messi keeps on continuing to score more goals for him and the team, speaking after the 1-2 victory of Barcelona in Los Cármenes stadium in Granada, Andalusia.

Regarding the victory, the Spain international stressed the importance of winning matches on grounds like that of Granada. “We played a good second half. We’re happy with the win on a very difficult ground,” he said after the match on Saturday evening.

The winger was also pleased with the new goal record achieved by teammate Lionel Messi, who scored his 301st goal in a Barcelona shirt.

“It’s good that he keeps scoring, both for him and the team and that’s what matters at the moment. It was a tough game for us, but in the end, it was Leo who decided the outcome. We won’t rest until we are champions,” affirmed Jordi Alba.

Finally, Jordi Alba praised Granada for standing up to the Catalan giants and having a one on one with them but later on succumbed to the terrific performance by Messi who scored two goals. The first in the 50^th minute from a Cesc Fabregás rebound and then in the 73^rd to put the match to bed with a fine free-kick outside the area which gave Toño no chance.

“We saw that Granada is a team able to beat Real Madrid. They have signed some very good players in the January transfer window and the team has changed a lot,” he added.

Jordi Alba was going to be rested for the match against Granada but number 2 coach Jordi Roura brought him on for Adriano just before half time. Roura wanted to rest Alba, Puyol and Iniesta ahead of the Champions League match against Milan on Wednesday.
