Former FC Barcelona star Ronaldinho has given an interview to UK daily newspaper The Daily Mail where he acknowledged: “The only regret is not playing more seasons with Lionel Messi. He is my good friend. I could see even at a young age he was going to be the best.
It was exciting to see this kid who could do things most players can only dream of.”
In the interview, Ronaldinho speaks about why he never played in England and how he nearly got to play with Manchester United.
He says that Wayne Rooney would walk into the Brazil side and also speaks about the future of young Brazilian star Neymar who plays for Santos: “Neymar is young, though, and I can’t explain how special he will become. In the next two or three seasons he will become the best player.”
Concerning who is better, Messi or Neymar, Ronaldinho had this to say: “Messi for the last three or four years has been the best player in the world – he has been at a level of consistency I don’t think the world has seen before.”
Ronaldinho says that Luiz Felipe Scolari is “the best coach” he has ever had. Regarding his alleged partying the Brazilian says he is sick of all those stories. “There are websites that used the same photo and made it out that I was partying every weekend even though the image used was old,” he said.
“I am passionate about music, and people think that because I go to places to enjoy the music, I must be partying and that’s not true,” he added.
Ronnie was speaking to the newspaper ahead of Brazil’s clash with England at Wembley on Wednesday night.
I will like to see ronaldinho and Lionel messi playing together once again.
