Andrés Iniesta to unveil plaque in Albacete

Albacete Football Club has made it official that Barca midfielder Andres Iniesta will unveil the plaque of the Sports City on 27th December that bears his name. The shareholders gave their approval at their annual meeting last year.

The event is scheduled for 17.00 hours and the club has forecast that thousands of fans will turn up to get a close up of the best player in Europe according to FIFA.

The club will take advantage of the fact that the Barcelona midfielder and Spain international who has come to the town for a few days and have some rest days rest, to pay tribute to him. Andrés Iniesta, who was born in Fuentealbilla and despite leaving the club at just 12 years of age, has always shown gestures of support for his home club.

At the moment, Andrés Iniesta is the majority shareholder thanks to the 420,000 euros he paid out last year. His winery, Bodegas Iniesta are one of the sponsors of Albacete’s first team, who play in the Segunda B League, Group IV along with other teams at lower levels.
