Dani Alves plans to make his departure difficult

There’s been a lot of talk and speculation in the air about Dani Alves just lately concerning a possible departure from Barca in the summer.

Alves is of the players that Barcelona hopes to cash in on to strengthen the squad for next season and it’s no secret. The Brazilian defender’s performance on the pitch has waned and his behavior off it has raised eyebrows. However, Barca do not have it all their own way regarding Alves’ possible departure as the player has already made ??it clear he has no intention of leaving the club. And Alves is one of the most stubborn players and hardest to convince. You only have to look at what the papers said last year about his renewal – he caused the board to have some real headaches.

“I want to stay. If i didn’t feel at home in Barcelona I would not have renewed last year,” he assured his team mates. This is quite true because Alves signed on April 23rd last year until 2015 with a buy out clause of 150 million euros.

Zubizarreta at the time said of the player: “It would be very difficult to find a player of his characteristics in the transfer market.” Therefore, Alves’ departure is very hard for the fans to believe that only a year later the club wants to get rid of a player who is considered one of the best in the world in his position.It’s incredible how a player can lose favour with his club!

Dani Alves has a great contract at Barcelona and he’s one of the highest paid players. Therefore, he wouldn’t be moving for money reasons. But if he was forced out or compelled to leave Barca, he would only do so for one of the strongest leagues in Europe: England and Italy, which is understandable for a player like Alves. Also, he’d only agree to go to a club that had a real chance to win the Champions League and therefore ensure his presence in the World Cup which will be held in his native Brazil in 2014.

At the moment there are two teams that have openly declared their interest in signing the Brazilian. One is the Russian outfit Anzhi, who are spending good money to ensure their presence in the Champions League but cannot meet Alves’ demands. The second club is none other than the French side PSG, which has received a cash injection and is planning to build a competitive team. PSG Coach Luis Fernandez, confirmed the intentions of the French club by stating. “Paris Saint Germain wants a right-back. We have great ambitions and want to sign great players to be able to compete in the Champions League”.

The Catalan giants plan to reinforce its squad with players in all positions. This has been a tough season and the club at times,  has been left a little short on players. Therefore, selling Alves, Keita and a youth team player would provide enough money which, when added to savings along with premiums that were destined for the League title and Champions League, would permit the club to sign a couple of defenders, a midfielder and a striker.
