Ex Arsenal skipper Cesc Fabregas has been forced to defend himself against claims that he racially abused Seville striker Freddie Kanoute.
The Ex-Gunners star was accused of insulting the ex West Ham and Tottenham star in an nasty incident that saw Freddie Kanoute sent off during last Saturday’s 0-0 draw with Barcelona.
Fabregas promptly denied the claims after the game although yesterday he was again being asked to explain the incident. Spanish press did say however that the two stars had spoken on the phone to each other.
Cesc said: “I spoke with Kanoute and we said what we had to say.
“Like every football player, I’m no saint, but I never said anything racist.”
Freddie sparked the bust-up by kicking the ball off the spot as Barcelona’s star player Messi prepared to take a penalty. Kanoute then walked over to the main group of players where Fabregas appeared to say something which sparked him to grab the ex gunner around the neck.
