Things seem to be going fine and dandy in a bid to secure Leo Messi’s signature in a new deal at the Camp Nou. Messi’s father Jorge has met with Barça board members Javier Faus and Antoni Rossich in a bid to improving on his son’s current deal. If Messi signs, this new deal will tie the Argentine to the Catalan giants until 2019.
Messi also appears to have suggested offering keeper José Manuel Pinto a new deal and the signing of Manchester City star and fellow compatriot Kun Agüero.
According to Catalan TV channel ‘TV3’, sources at the club described Jorge Messi’s meeting with the club’s board members as very positive indeed. Although much of the meeting was focused on the financial aspects of Messi’s new contract as would be normal, other footballing matters were said to be discussed.
Messi appears very interested in getting the Blaugrana club to offer José Manuel Pinto a new deal as well as trying to lure fellow Argentine Kun Agüero away from city. According to the Catalan TV channel TV3, it was just a suggestion.
Over the next few days, the Catalana giants hope to be able to announce a new deal with the Argentine astro. The differences between the two parties had been balanced over the distribution of his salary plus add-ons. Messi’s new contract is said to be worth around €20m euros per season after tax, plus a further €3m euros if the player meets certain objectives.
Yesterday, we mentioned that Manchester City would offer an eye-watering £164 million for the Argentine should he ever be allowed to leave the club.
A lot of fans would love to see how Messi performs in another league but at the moment, it looks as if the Catalan giants are prepared to offer the moon and more to keep him as a one club player.
