Manchester United interest sparked by Iniesta’s stalling

Andres Iniesta has sparked interest from top clubs like Manchester United

The stalling of Andrés Iniesta over an agreement with his contract renewal has sparked interest from one of the Premier League’s giants; Manchester United. And with David Moyes’ team bouncing back this weekend after beating leaders Arsenal FC by a goal to nil, the title holders have apparently set their sights on the Barcelona player.

Andres Iniesta has still not put pen to paper to renew his contract which expires in June 2015. The big European clubs have caught wind of this and are now circling like sharks ready to attack.British newspaper Daily Mail published on their front page that Manchester United knows the difficulties that Andrés Iniesta is going through to seal his continuity as a Barca player and Moyes has already asked the club owners to make an earnest effort to sign him in the winter market.

According to Esport3, negotiations between Iniesta and Barcelona have suffered a drawback. The player has requested the return of fitness coach Emili Ricart, who ended his relationship with the Catalan giants last June.

Ricart was a confidant of the majority of the Barca squad and a key in the successes of Pep Guardiola whilst he was coach at the Catalan club. Ricart also played an important role in the recovery and return to fitness of Eric Abidal, who went to Monaco.

Although Andrés Iniesta has stated on several occasions that there is no better place than Barcelona to continue his footballing career, but for now the negotiations are taking place at a snail’s pace.

The question that is on everyone’s lips is; should he stay or should he go? Iniesta has served both club and country well and has a room full of trophies collected under both Guardiola and Del Bosque. Would the player like to try “other cultures” such as Victor Valdés? Watch this space.

  1. I dont think Iniesta will ever leave barca and even if he does…PSG will surely beat united for his signature….and moreover he is not suited for united….i think Marco Resu will be a better player for united….check it out @ http://champions-mufc.blogspot.in/2013/11/man-utd-chasing-marco-reus.html
