Andrés Iniesta gives new Barca coach Tata Martino seal of approval

Andres Iniesta has spoken and says he supports the signing of Gerardo ‘Tata’ Martino as the Barca coach. The Barca midfielder summed up how he felt by stating: “he’s the ideal coach if he’s been chosen by the club. Therefore let him work how he feels fit and let him work well. The players should also support what the manager says and try to have another positive year.”

Iniesta planted the first tree in a project promoted by WWF and Sony in a reforestation project in the Smurf village of Júzcar, Spain. The function and the surroundings have also served as a backdrop to introduce the new Smurf film,  Smurfs 2.

The Barca star was asked about the hot topics concerning the Catalan club and the player acknowledged that he spoke to Tito Vilanova “the other day” and wanted to “send him all his encouragement and positive energy throughout this hard time.”

Iniesta also ruled out and quashed any rumours of problems between Neymar and Messi. “I do not think there will be any conflict. Good players can always play together. Good players help each other out to be better. Neymar has arrived and we want the team to continue winning titles,” he explained.

Talking about the recent news and continued saga of Cesc Fabregás, Iniesta doesn’t see him leaving the Nou Camp. “It’s quite normal for the big clubs to want players like him. Barca have the good fortune to have him and I hope we can continue together.”

Finally, speaking about Bayern Munich and Pep Guardiola, Iniesta has stressed that “Bayern was a great team and Guardiola will make it even stronger. I don’t know if in the future we will have the opportunity to square up against Bayern but both teams are strong, so we’ll see what happens. I can only say that Bayern, with the arrival of Guardiola, will be even better.”
