Manchester United in shock raid for Cesc Fabregás

Cesc Fabregás found himself in the crosshairs of Manchester United’s new coach David Moyes on Monday afternoon when the Old Trafford club launched a sensational bid to bring the ex gunner to the Theatre of Dreams.

Moyes has money to spend and has shocked the transfer market with a £26million bid for Cesc Fabregas. He wants to make the Barcelona midfielder his first major signing after taking over the club from sir Alex Ferguson.

Manchester United are in Australia currently on tour and David Moyes wasted no time at all in making his move for the ex Arsenal star.

Fabregas quit the gunners in 2011 when he left the Emirates stadium and Arsenal FC to head home to the Nou Camp. Cesc Fabregás comes from a little town in Catalonia called Arenys de Mar, not far from Barcelona.

Barca have many midfielders and have lost one this week in the shape of Thiago Alcántara to the German European champions, Bayern Munich for 25M euros. But Cesc has failed to nail down a permanent first team place, always having to compete with Iniesta and Xavi for a spot and had been tipped with a move away this summer.

Only last season, Fabregás admitted he would leave the Nou Camp if they made it clear he was surplus to requirements.

And Manchester United’s bid could light the fuse on a bidding war with North London club Arsenal FC, who have first refusal on the player.
