David Villa does not need to prove anything says Jordi Roura

Barcelona’s assistant coach Jordi Roura has stated that David Villa doesn’t have to prove anything and that the coaching staff have great confidence in him. For tonight’s clash against Córdoba, Roura will be on the bench at the Nou Camp for the second leg of the Copa del Rey match while Tito Vilanova is in New York for a doctor’s second opinion on his condition.

Piqué, Iniesta, Xavi and Pedro rested for La Copa del Rey

Barca first team players Gerard Piqué, Xavi Hernandez, Andres Iniesta and Pedro Rodriguez have been left out of the squad to face Cordoba in the second leg of their Copa del Rey clash at the Nou Camp. Sergi Roberto from the reserves is included in the squad along with Brazilian Adriano and winger Isaac Cuenca.

A David Villa brace of goals last night at the Nou Camp sent humble Alavés crashing out of the Copa del Rey. Barca won by 3 goals to one with goals from Adriano and striker David Villa. Minnows Alaves put up a great fight at the Nou Camp and go out of the competition with their heads held high.

The Barca coach believes Leo Messi is not just thinking about beating the goal record of the legendary Gerd Muller. Tito Vilanova has not called up the little Argentine for the second leg of the Cup against Alavés. Despite Barca winning the first-leg 0-3, Vilanova does not consider that the tie has been resolved.
