Barcelona beat Deportivo 2-0 thinking ahead to A C Milan clash

FC Barcelona beat a tame Deportivo side on Saturday night with goals coming from Alexis in the 38th minute and Messi in the 88th. It wasn’t the best preparation for Barcelona thinking ahead to Tuesday’s crunch game against A.C Milan at the Nou Camp and the Catalans became a bit complacent treating the game as a mere formality and nothing more than a routine training session.

Barca crash out of La Copa del Rey

Barcelona will be kicking themselves for not making their away goal count last night at the Nou Camp. Real Madrid beat Barcelona by 3 goals to 1 in a tactical masterplan devised by Mourinho. Cristiano scored a brace and young Varane, who was the hero at the Bernabéu scored a header that left pinto for dead. Barcelona have to get their house in order by the weekend for sure.

David Villa rescues Barca from Sevilla at Nou Camp

It wasn’t one of Barcelona’s better performances this season and perhaps the ghosts of San Siro are coming back to haunt the Catalan side. Leo Messi rescues Barcelona from Granada’s bewitchment

It had to be Leo Messi who came to the rescue in the 73rd minute to make it 1-2 to Barcelona against Granada last night. Barca welcome the Chinese New Year by thrashing Getafe

FC Barcelona thrashed Getafe yesterday at midday by an alarming 6 goals to 1 at the Nou Camp. Other goals came courtesy of Messi, Villa, Tello, Iniesta and Gerard Piqué bringing up the rear. It appears that a Sunday morning game is good for Barca.

Majestic Valdes saves Barca from red face at Mestalla

There could have been a few red faces last night at the Mestalla stadium if Victor Valdes hadn’t managed to keep a last ditch effort by the home-side out of the net. It was one of the best games of the season by far and Valencia managed to keep Barca at bay and even bring the game to the Catalans which ended in a 1-1 draw.

Barca hypnotises Osasuna in 5-1 thrashing

Barcelona set up the perfect backdrop for their Copa del Rey clash against Real Madrid on Wednesday. Messi was at his best and scored a double brace of goals in the 5-1 thrashing of Osasuna at the Nou Camp last night. Messi’s first goal was reminiscent of the great Brazilian ‘Pele’ when he dummied and rounded the keeper keeper Andres Fernandez to slot the ball home with ease.

Barca’s winning streak halted by Real Sociedad

Barcelona’s magnificent run of 10 away game wins hit a brick wall last night against a very strong Real Sociedad side at the Anoeta stadium in San Sebastián. Barca were winning by 2 goals to one at half time but the tables were turned in the second half when defender Gerard Piqué was sent off for picking up two yellow cards. Barca were then punished by Real Sociedad who went on to score another 2 goals.
