Barcelona hits Hadrian’s Wall and loses 2-1

Celtic built their own Hadrian’s Wall last night to keep the Barcelona attack at bay and it worked. Neil Lennon’s men took a leaf out of Chelsea’s books and gave the Catalans little hope of penetrating their defense. Goals came from Wanyama and 18 year old Watt who ran Mascherano ragged. It was up to Leo Messi however to try to alter the scoreline and managed to make it 2-1 in the dying moments of extra time.

Barca beats Celta de Vigo 3-1

It was business as usual for Barca last night and the Catalan side continued on their unbeaten run this time beating Celta de Vigo by a clear 3 goals to one. Barca’s goals came from Adriano, David Villa and Jordi Alba while Celta’s goal came from Mario Bermejo.

Thiago Messi is born

Antonella, Leo Messi’s wife gave birth to a boy this afternoon just after 5 0 clock. He is called Thiago Messi Rocuzzo. We don’t have too many details just yet but Messi is doubtful for the match against Celta Vigo this weekend as is understandable.

Barca destroys Alavés in the first leg match of La Copa del Rey

FC Barcelona beat Alavés by a clear 0-3 last night in La Copa del Rey to take full advantage of their first leg match. Goals came from David Villa, Iniesta and Cesc Fabregás. Tito Vilanova used this game to try out new things and the result is a 3 nil advantage which is more than enough for when Alavés meet Barca at the Nou Camp.

Messi receives his second Golden Boot

Argentine forward leo Messi was awarded with his second Golden Boot on Monday for scoring an impressive 50 goals last season. He pipped Real Madrid’s Cristiano Ronaldo to the post by four goals with his impressive tally.

Barca steamrollers Rayo Vallecano with a 5 goal whitewash

It was business as usual for Barca last night against Rayo Vallecano where the Catalans sunk the team from Vallecas by five goals to nil. It was another great night for Messi, who bagged a brace with Villa, Xavi and Cesc bringing up the rear.

Jordi Alba secures win over Celtic for Barca

Barcelona snatched a last gasp win with a Jordi Alba goal in the dying seconds of extra time against Celtic in the Champions League at the Nou Camp last night. Barca now go into the second leg with a two goal lead and everything to play for.

Goal fest at the Riazor stadium

It was certainly a goal fest last night against Deportivo at the Riazor stadium in which Barca had to pull everything out of the hat to beat them 4-5. Cesc was magnificent, as was Messi but Barca’s defense without their key players looks shaky.
