Leeds and Barcelona confirm Raphinha transfer

Leeds and FC Barcelona have confirmed they have reached an agreement in principal for the transfer of forward Raphinha.

The 25-year-old Brazilian forward will undergo a medical in Barcelona before swapping Yorkshire for North East Spain permanently in a deal believed to be costing the Catalan club around £58m.

Raphinha scored nine goals in 27 PL appearances for Leeds United last season and made his senior debut for his home country Brazil, last October.

Chelsea had been interested in the winger, but apparently Raphinha only had eyes for Barcelona and will sign a contract until 2027.

Barça Club president Joan Laporta said the deal is likely to be concluded this week and said that Ousmane Dembele will also sign a new contract.

Barcelona are still trying to hunt down Robert Lewandowski from Bayern Munich, which would form an outstanding attack duo with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang who is also at the club.

About Aaron

My name's Aaron and I'm a great Barça fan. I like to tell it like it is and if there is something I don't like about the club or something that needs addressing, you'll know!
