Will Sergio Ramos leave Real Madrid?

Barcelona midfielder Andres Iniesta who is Sergio Ramos’ long-time friend and teammate at the Spanish national team was asked by the press about it, and said he can’t see Real Madrid selling Ramos. “I’ve always said that Ramos is one of the best centre-backs in the world, . . . I don’t think they’ll let him go.” Iniesta told reporters.

Is Ramos really leaving Madrid?

Rumors of Ramos’ possible departure from Santiago Bernabeu emerged after it was revealed that his relationship with club bosses hasn’t been good recently. Later a poll of football Spanish fans with 55% percent of the respondents saying that it’s OK to them for Ramos leave Madrid further bolstered the speculation. It’s also believed that Ramos was the one who was persuading the club’s bosses to let him go.

After this news broke out, rumors about Manchester United’s rejected bid of £29 million for the centre-back also spread. The Red Devils who will come back to the Champions League next season are preparing to strengthen their defense. Aside from Ramos, their other targets include Otamendi of Valencia and Bastian Schweinsteiger from Bayern Munich. The deal for the Germany captain is reported to be done already.

However, news about Ramos’ possible move to United died down after he appeared with other Real Madrid players for the press release photos of their new kits. Iker Casillas who isn’t included in any of those pics is now the subject of many speculations.

Andres Iniesta’s respect for Sergio Ramos
Although Iniesta and Ramos are most often seen playing on opposite sides, their respect for each other is big. Both of them play for the Spanish national team and are also long-time friends in real life. This is why Iniesta simply can’t imagine Madrid letting go of Ramos.
Although the Ramos transfer is still just a rumor as of now, who knows it may really happen in the future. As they say, in football nothing is impossible.
