Xavi wants Cazorla or Silva to replace Fàbregas

Barcelona midfielder Xavi wants Manchester City’s David Silva or Arsenal FC’s Santi Cazorla to replace Cesc Fàbregas.

Fàbregas left Barcelona for Chelsea and it looks like the player is sorely missed which has prompted Xavi to speak out and voice his concerns over bringing Spanish talent back to La Liga.

Fàbregas joined Arsenal from Barcelona in 2003 and enjoyed great success with the Gunners as playmaker and even became captain. However, trophies were light on the ground and Cesc re-joined his boyhood club in 2011. Under Guardiola, Cesc flourished as a player as he was surrounded by a team of winners and all credit goes to Arsene Wenger for the making of him.

Xavi said: “There is some great Spanish football talent around.”

“Who would I sign for Barcelona? Silva and Cazorla.”

“Those who look to associate themselves with Leo for their own personal gain are not wanted in football.”

“As for coaches, I‘ve learned from every one of them I’ve worked with, but if I had to name one of the best then it would have to be Luis Aragonés.”

Cesc left last year for Chelsea as it looked like the midfielder was out of favour at the club and a few bad appearances even had the crowd against him at one point. On his return to Barcelona, Cesc notched up 96 appearances and scored 28 goals. Chelsea paid 3oM for the midfielder and Mourinho has nothing but praise for him.
