Neymar to be sued by Santos fan for joining Barça

According to reports from Globoesporte, Brazilian superstar Neymar is to be sued by a Santos fan for leaving the club and joining the Catalan giants.

The lifelong Santos fan Luciano Pereira Caparroz, who happens to be a lawyer from Brazil is taking action against Neymar for signing a pre-contract agreement with the Catalans before Santos’ Club World Cup tie against them 2011.

The lawyer spent around £2,000 travelling to Japan for the match which Santos lost 4-0, only to discover that Neymar had previously penned a deal with the Catalan club. Neymar and N&N, the company owned by Neymar’s father and who represent him is being sued for the sum of £6,600 to cover the cost of the trip and “morale damages” caused by the player’s decision to leave the club he loves.

Mr Caparroz said: “I’m a Santista, I go to all the games and I decided to travel to Japan to watch the Club World Cup. I was left frustrated with the result and on top of that, later on we learned that Neymar was already sold. I feel cheated.”

Neymar and N&N are yet to comment on the case brought about by Luciano Pereira Caparroz.

I don’t know what the Spanish media think about this yet but if Caparroz’s case gets the green light, it’ll be the blue touch paper for every fan in the land to sue a player for leaving a club. Can you imagine if Messi left Barça or Rooney leaving Manchester United? There would be blood in the streets 😉
